RIDING LESSONS AT 
SUNDANCE ACRES

At Sundance Acres we offer 30 minute lessons. Our lesson program is specially designed to teach the most important fundamentals of horseback riding and grow with your abilities.

 

All of our students start learning to ride English. During their lesson students learn the basics of how to steer, halt, walk, trot, and canter. As a student is able, we also grow to ground rails (a cavaletti) and jumping.

 

To complete the well-rounded horseman, our students learn how to groom and care for the horses as well as learn to ride.

 

Once riders have a good understanding of the basics, we will also pair up riders of similar ages and abilities to take lessons together. This not only extends their riding skills to a multi-horse environment but it also gives them the opportunity to meet different students and make new friends.

Lessons are currently available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturday mornings.

Mommy & Me: 

We offer 15 minute time slots for 1:1 learning in a safe and fun environment spent with the instructor and our patient lesson horses. Helmets are available.

 

During this time we introduce our horse to get comfortable and acquainted with the child and go over basics. Getting to know the names of the equipment, and riding such as walking, stopping, turning, posting and small games together like Simon Says.

 

We encourage parents to be involved by walking alongside but will not ride.
